Meet the BDCF Board: Introducing Mr. Grant Karsten

The Foundation is very pleased that Grant Karsten has joined our Board as our newest member. Primary among his Board commitments, Grant provides important financial and banking oversight to our Foundation accounts and investments, working closely with Board Treasurer Tyler Burkart, Development Director Nathan Hileman and President Rob Guilbert. Grant earned his MBA and BS in Finance from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, WI. While there, he participated in many different on-campus activities, including a member and captain of the men’s basketball team. Grant is currently working at Northern Trust in downtown Milwaukee as the Senior Associate in Wealth Strategies.

Prior to that, he worked at US Bank in Mutual Fund Administration. Grant and his wife Sarah are natives of Decatur, Illinois. Sarah also has a rigorous professional career, helping people as an ICU Nurse at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. Grant and Sarah chose to buy their first house in Brown Deer in 2023. In addition to their careers, they stay busy with their three dependents: sweet cats Asher and Hazy and lovable Dalmatian Toby.

We welcome them to Brown Deer. We are grateful Grant wanted to become more involved in our community, and value his work on the Brown Deer Community Foundation Board!
